Cardax
Cardax is manufactured by Gallaghers in Hamilton. Released in 2000, the Cardax FT (Future Technology) is an IP based system that utilises an addressable controller and a remote server client software configuration. The Cardax integrated control system is acknowledged as a world leader and is sold in over 100 countries across Europe, North and South America, Asia, Africa and the Pacific.
The Cardax FT Controller 3000 is specifically designed to support access controlled doors and integrated intruder alarms. There are two variants, the Cardax FT Controller 3000-8R, which caters for eight controlled doors, and the Cardax FT Controller 3000-4R, which caters for four controlled doors. The Cardax FT Controller 3000-8R has on-board connections for 8 Cardax readers, 16 balanced inputs and 8 relay outputs, and One GBUS port to support I/O devices, and Cardax the FT Remote Arming Terminal.
The Cardax dialler 3000 is an additional device that is attached on-board the Cardax FT Controller 3000 to enable dial-up capability for the support of remote sites, and for off-site alarm monitoring.
The Cardax FT Controller 3000 supports approximately 10,000 events and 30,000 card records in its default configuration. Cardax FT is a Windows based security system that provides high-level security management for access control, intruder alarms, voice over IP, and alarm management requirements. Cardax FT Command Centre is the central control server and management tool for the Cardax FT system. This provides interfacing capability using XML interface for cardholder database and the international OPC for event data. The Cardax FT utility can import the data into the specified records.
Cardax FT Online Manager has a browser-based tool for the management and monitoring of cardholders, alarms and events, areas and safety issues from anywhere that operators have access to a web browser.
Online Manager provides the following functionality (via secure web browser logon):

Cardholder Management
Cardax FT Online Manager provides cardholder management via a user interface. It is able to search for cardholders in a variety of user-defined methods. Cardholders can be easily added via an Add Cardholder wizard.
When a cardholder’s details are viewed in Online Manager, the data fields will be those from Cardax FT Command Centre and any created within Online Manager. Any number of cardholder data fields can be added.
Cardholder data fields can be organised into logical categories and any that are mandatory are checked before the cardholder’s details are saved. The data fields can be text or numeric fields, dropdown lists or date-time fields.
Management of Alarms
Online Manager provides full Event and Alarm processing.
Users are able to view Alarm details and instructions and acknowledge assigned a card or have a label printed and then removed from the system as they leave.
Evacuation and Mustering
This module provides real-time cardholder location data in an emergency. As cardholders move from an unsafe area to a muster point, their name will move from one part of the screen to the other.
Messaging
Alarms which meet a number of user-definable criteria can be sent to a list of contacts as an SMS alerting them to the alarm occurrence. The system can be configured to scroll through the list of recipients until it receives a response within a particular timeframe. The recipient of an SMS alert can choose to view the details or instructions, or acknowledge or process the alarm.
Operator Management
Cardax FT Online Manager features a password protected user logon system and allows the creation of operators separate to Cardax FT Command Centre. As well as being subject to system division, operators are assigned privileges and can only perform authorised functions.
Cardax FT Online Manager allows operators to fully manage cardholders, alarms and areas for any division, department, faculty, floor or office that they are assigned to manage.
Software Maintenance Agreements

Reports
Custom reports can be developed and incorporated in the product without the need for a new release of Cardax FT Online Manager.
